Louis Riggs brings a wide variety of professional experiences to his consulting practice that includes more than 30 years as a leader in nonprofit organizations at the local, regional, and statewide levels, and he has developed a national reputation for his work on legislating solutions to his state’s digital divide as a Missouri State Representative.  In addition, he is an expert at grassroots advocacy, leading an effort that saw his statewide organization go from the worst-funded to the best-funded council for state funding in the United States within five years. 

Louis also brings a wide variety of professional experiences in higher education.  He has experience as a professor, Director of Community Engagement, grant writer, general counsel, faculty representative, and Standard Pathway System Coordinator who successfully concluded an HLC site visit, Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, and member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater. As a member of the Higher Education, Workforce Development and Budget Committees of the Missouri House of Representatives, Louis has experienced Higher Education from nearly every point of the compass at every level of shared governance.
